• Reasons for big file size
1. Unwanted cell colours, formatting or Conditional Formatting
2. Unintentional use of Columns/Rows
3. Presence of unwanted objects in the sheet
4. High resolution or unwanted images
5. Presence of unnecessary hidden sheets
6. Huge Data

• Save the file in Binary i.e. “.XLSB” file extension

• Pros.
Much smaller file size (up to 90%)
Open, saving, closing becomes much smoother

• Cons.

Can’t say it has macros or not.
Hard to open up in non-Microsoft tools e.g. Mobile apps.
Not supported by 2003 & earlier versions

• How to efficiently work in Excel files with Huge Data?
Keep your data sorted while working with Lookup function (this will speed up the process)
Use once concerned ranges in function like Vlookup or CF. Don’t refer to entire columns or rows
Disable automatic calculation mode
use Power Query

Save it as a webpage and it will tell us the size contributed by each sheet.
