Kindle eBooks published before January 3, 2023, can be downloaded with an older version of Kindle and have the DRM removed.
How to use the kindle converter on Mac?
Step1. Deregister the Kindle for mac v1.39 / v1.40.
Step2. Start Epubor Ultimate to auto-downgrade kindle app to v1.31

Step3. Register the kindle app again.
Step4. Quit the Kindle app.
Step5. Open your terminal, copy& paste the following command, and then click enter.
sudo chmod -x /Applications/Kindle.app/Contents/MacOS/renderer-test
Step6. Right-click to download your kindle books.
Step7. Start Epubor Ultimate. It detects newly downloaded kindle books.
Add books to the right area, then the drm is removed fast.
Step8. Convert kindle to epub, pdf, azw3 or mobi.
Tips: Books published after January 3, 2023, cannot be downloaded using earlier versions kindle mac. To resolve this issue, “Download and Transfer”, if you have an e-Ink Kindle.
