To reduce the PowerPoint file size, you have several options. First, you can compress pictures in the deck. With an image selected, go to the Picture Format tab on PowerPoint’s ribbon. Choose Compress Pictures, and from the menu, you can choose to compress some or all pictures in the file.
Instead of embedding videos, try linking to them. Simply add a URL to your online video link by using the Insert / Link menu.
Similarly, it’s best to use the Insert tab to add images using Pictures / Picture from the File menu. Dragging and dropping images may be faster, but it won’t compress large image files like the Insert menu will.
You can also explore the Save options and choose to embed fonts, helping to reduce PPT file size. Plus, it helps to insert charts as images, rather than linking them back to Excel.
All done? On the Save As menu, choose PDF format. It’s easier to share, and it reduces your PPT file size.
As you can see, it’s easy to reduce PowerPoint file size by following a few quick steps like linking to videos, compressing pictures, and using the Insert tab to add content.

If you compress pictures, will it reduce the quality of your image when you present them? Will they appear blurry during a presentation?
It seems great, thank you, but if I do all those cuttings it results in a much less impressive presentation I guess, I don’t want to present pixels…
For anyone who cant seem to find the Compress Picture option, make sure your window is large enough. Sometimes you wont see certain tool icons unless your screen is wide enough.
I have Microsoft Word for Mac and I literally have NONE of these options :'(. I'm also have a Envato membership.
