To open a PowerPoint file in Adobe Illustrator:
– convert your PowerPoint file to a PDF
– go to File, Export it in Preview, choose PDF as your setting
– go to Illustrator and go to File and click Open
– you can only select one slide at a time
– it gives a bunch of extra items that are not visible but worry about the items that you can actually see

You have not said what software you use to convert to PDF.
You do not say what that preview software is.
You don't say if this is Apple Mac or Window.
You have failed to help me.
I don't do ambiguity and vagueness. Off to find a helpful channel.
Saved my life .. Thx
