A better option, go to files, select print, select printer, select Microsoft print to pdf, and save as .prn. Open it in adobe or any pdf reader. .prn has better image quality.
Does not work, sorry.
How can I do it on Mac? Thank you!
Still lost major quality
Hello all, it did not work for my documents with 600DPI images. I suspect some others may be having the same issue. I found a way to do it. File–> Print –> Adobe PDF –> Printer properties —> Adobe PDF settings –> Default Settings –> Images–> Then change your required dpi to a higher value (eg. 600). Hit OK, then the settings will need to be saved in your PC. Then hit OK again in the Adobe PDF Document Properties dialog box. It worked for me!!
PERFECT!! THANK YOU!! But newer Word versions you will find a different option "Optimize for image quality" – Check that . I tried a dozen solutions online and nothing worked except this.
