How to delete your files
You can delete your files yourself at any time. Here’s how — and how long we keep files if you don’t.
Delete one file
- Sign in and open My Documents.
- Click the trash icon next to the file.
- Confirm. The file disappears from the list right away.
Delete all your files
In My Documents, click “Delete all my files” and confirm. This deletes every file in your account, including files not shown in the list. Files that are still processing are skipped — delete them when processing finishes.
What gets deleted
- The file itself: the original you uploaded, the processed result and any text extracted from it are removed from our storage.
- AI summaries and chat history for the file.
- The file name.
What we keep
A minimal record without the file or its name: the tool used, file type and size, page count, dates, AI usage and payment records. We need it for billing, accounting and usage limits — deleting files doesn’t reset your daily free files or AI limits.
Before you delete
- Deletion is permanent — we can’t restore a deleted file.
- If you paid for a file, deleting it doesn’t refund the payment, and you won’t be able to download it again.
- Download anything you want to keep first.
How long we keep files
If you don’t delete them, files are removed automatically:
- Files you process without an account — after 3 hours.
- Original files you upload to tools such as Compress — 24 hours after upload.
- Files of accounts without any purchase or subscription — after 48 hours without activity.
- All other files — up to 1 year.
Without an account you can’t delete files yourself — they are removed automatically.
