If you wish to create your own .hex file, here is the video tutorial for that:
—FOR THIS VIDEO—
If you want to use a .hex file that I (and Zuk) have already created for you, I recommend this one:
Download, install, and run QMK toolbox:
Use it to flash the .hex file onto your converter, as shown in this video.
If that doesn’t work for you, try following this alternative guide for flashing your .hex file:
Download the AutoHotKey installer:
Then, download this AutoHotkey script by clicking RAW, and CTRL S to save. (Delete the little .txt if it appears!)
Create this folder structure, and save it here:
C:AHK2nd-keyboardHASU_USBQMK_F24_macro_keyboard.ahk
Now, double-click on it to get it running. A friendly icon should appear in your taskbar. Boop!
Now, try typing into a text document. Instead of text, you should be seeing tooltips. Perfect! Now you can replace those with your own functions, and calls to those functions. It’s all normal AutoHotKey scripting from this point on.

Hopefully it will help me with my blender issues. (refuses to adopt industry standard as default)
Ahora se como se siente la gente cuando me pregunta… "y como hiciste eso?",
de ahora en adelante respondere… "ni yo lo se" y me ire corriendo…
The device seems to be sold out as of now. Any tips where I could find another?
Was this REALLY cheaper?

4 years later, do you think this is better than using kmonad or similar tools?
0:54 Wow, you got NeuraLink as a sponsor already?!?!

Was it edited or he just speaks like that
can you make macro for jog and shuttle?
My keyboard can in fact do that.
Sounds great to be able to use my personalized shortcuts on any PC, and on my Ducky One 3 which hasn't got any accompanying software. However, I tried AHK, and it isn't working satisfactorily for me, at least with the scripts I tired… It has the same bug that the keyboard manager in PowerToys has. Which is that when using the i, j, k, l – keys as arrow keys, sometimes a letter is sent as input instead of an arrow when pressing them in quick succesion (for example down, left very quickly when navigating through code). (The problem is much lesser/harder to reproduce in AHK than PowerToys, but its still there, which lessens.) The only softwares I've tried that does this perfectly is Razer Synapse and Logitech G-hub. However I haven't tried QMK/VIA yet, so I'll definitively give the Hasu a try.
have you tried HID makros?
Such amazing video and effort, wauw
Meh…..
After trying the inception driver and completely messing up my windows 11 after the installation, I decided to take matters into my own hands. (I couldn't even logon to my computer because my keyboard driver was so messed up.)
My solution was to use a pi zeroW. I wrote a program to read the raw key strokes, and send them in the raw format to a program on my computer.
On my computer I had a folder of programs that I wanted to run based on the key ID. Eg: The "1" Key has a key code of 2. In the folder I had a script file named 2.(whatever ending, eg exe, ahk, bat, ink, ….etc)
The beauty of using the pi zeroW with network sockets is that my keyboard is now a wireless network keyboard ! ! !
I can also control multiple computers at the exact same time ! ! ! (Come to think of it…. I could run it from the other side of the world!)
(I can't wait to mess with someone's head that I can still use my old broken keyboard after unplugging the chord.)
Hypothetically this could all be done with a pi 400 (70usd), but the pi Zero W can be had for <10$
Next step: Cellular based keyboard? Not so hard to do… however I can't think of an application for it.
BIG LOL XD
i’m about to get an rfid implant so big fan thanks taran
I did not understand the difference between these two scenario:
– Using Autohotkey to remap keys and create macros for your keyboard … and have fun.
– Using Autohotkey to remap keys and create macros for your keyboard, … and have fun … but, before, don't forget to plug this thing in your USB port.
Short
Isn't there software that can do the exact same thing for free?
Hy Thank you for the video >_>
I've been looking for a while and am happy for help.
I love my Logitech G15 v1 and would like to rebuild it as a mechanical keyboard. No idea where to get the motherboard
or if there is a custom PCB available at all. Any tips would be appreciated Thank you
I’m a programmer who’s been on a similar mission for a similar length of time.
I’ve gone with Koolertron macro keyboards and bound them to obscure combinations like Win+Shift+F1 through F12. From there I use auto hotkey.
It’s not perfect, but arguably as imperfect as this solution for a few bucks less.
I swear I would pay upwards of $200 a unit for a perfect solution, though.
Interesting. I've always wanted a one-size-fits-all solution. I don't want to buy specific keyboards in order to customize hotkeys. And I also don't want to rely on platform-dependent software.
LOL XD the launchpad, I have the Launchpad X and the new firmware update allow to use keystrokes, that is nice, not macros, but still nice to get colorful shortcuts.
This video suddenly being recommended. Me, wondering why a new video is featuring Taran, who recently left. Realize its 3.5 years old. xD
Is this still a viable option? Or, 3 years later, do we have something better?
Except LTT already knows about AutoHotKey
I stuck around because I wanted to know about the inserted RFID.
This converter is no longer available
Not that it would matter but… anyone else getting a strong flamboyant vibe from Taran in this video? 😀
Ah yes, the classic hypocrisy.
Ignoring all the things that are way too impractical to do in Windows. To say that Linux is overly complicated because doing it there in roundabout way is more feasible. But then effectively blame Linux too for the fact that it wasn't feasible in Windows. Intellectual honesty at it's finest.Of course if you can blame every complication including the ones fro Windows on Linux Linux will always come off worse in the comparison. Neat trick. Microsoft approved.
Wondering if this can be done with only hardware. If I use a laptop that I can't install any software or drivers on, but would love to have macros to autotype without programming PowerShell etc. AutoHotKey is awsome on a personal PC.
i used to run a K55 as my main keyboard before I switched to mechanical, even briefly used just the numpad and side G1-6 as hotkeys for streaming with a dual kb setup, guess I never realized how powerful icue is, will definitely be digging that crusty bad boy back out
u
Damn.
Would the K55 work as macro keyboard with Mac?
I downloaded a Corsair program that gave me heaps of system info like temps and hardware utilization but it crashed my computer a few times and disconnected my keyboard and made my pc fail to boot a few times so when it finally booted I uninstalled it and now my pc is okay, why did Corsairs program do this?
