You can now convert a picture to Excel data in the Excel Desktop app (before you could just do this in the Office app but now this feature is also available in Excel Desktop for Office 365 – currently in beta insider version). Manually typing data from a printed image into Excel is a tedious work. With the NEW Data from Picture feature in Excel for Windows, you can now convert an image of text & numbers into a worksheet. This could be a photo from a newspaper, a screenshot from a website or a jpg file. It’s also a great trick when you can’t use Power Query to get data from a website because the table isn’t an html table. You could just grab a screen capture and import it in Excel desktop using the new “data from picture” feature. In this video I’ll show you how it works and how well it gets the job done.

In scenario #2, it could be done by pasting the web data to Notepad, then save it as txt format, then import the file in Excel. This way, the data accuracy should be 100%.
Oh shit this is going to save me a lot of time at work.
This is in beta for x86 (Mac, iOS, and Android work as those are Excel for ARM). You can currently do this using PowerAutomate and AI Builder pretty easily along with a lot of benefits such as when you receive images regularly being able to upload to a SharePoint hosted workbook. Also, it appears to be far more accurate as I have been getting 100% accurate with none of this manual formatting garbage.
I cannot find the button to import data from an image in excel. Is there anything I need to change in the settings?
5:06 You are probably using a third party software to be able to use Ctrl + Shift + S. This is not a native Windows shortcut. Not sure why you don't just use Windows Key + Shift + S, which is the exact same feature like you used except it has also the option to choose a windows to take a screenshot from.
1. third party software dependency for stuff that is supported by the OS the exact same way is not good
2. especially when wanting to show the key shortcuts so the viewers can learn them too (which is cool in principle), you shouldn't use shortcuts from third party software or shortcuts you defined yourself. Either use native shortcuts or (in rare exceptions) mention what third party software enables this shortcut

I tried with a grocery receipt because I was looking for a way to import those receipts to excel to track my expenses but also getting the item details to track categories aswell and not just the total. It surprisingly worked great!
