Timeline for the tutorial: Convert Word to PDF
0:11 Save Word as PDF (Possibility 1)
0:44 Finding an online conversion tool (Possibility 2)
1:13 Convert the Word document to PDF

You are asking yourself how to convert Word to PDF? In this tutorial your are going to learn it in simple steps. I will show you 2 possibilities. For the first one you will need Microsoft Word and for the second one we will use a free online Word to PDF converter.

Please keep in mind that the use of an online tool means that your Word documents will be uploaded to an external server. So please don’t use it for any sensitive documents:

Procedure for possibility 1:
If you have Microsoft Word installed there is an easy way to generate a PDF file. Simply open the Word document, click on “File” – “Save as” and then change the file format from “.docx” to “.pdf”. After hitting the save button, the Microsoft software will convert your Word document to a PDF file.

Procedure for possibility 2:
First we will choose an online conversion tool. Since the tool “IlovePDF” convinced me with its conversion quality, I am going to use it in this tutorial (see the link above). When we open the tool we click on “Select Word files” and choose our file from the computer. Then we just need to hit the button “Convert to PDF” and the Word converter will generate a PDF document. This document will be automatically downloaded after the conversion is done. If the PDF file isn’t automatically downloaded, just hit the button “Download PDF”. And that’s it!

Why all that?
PDF files are nowadays standard for applications but also for office use. The reason for that is, that PDFs can be opened on almost every computer and the formatting will not be lost.
Now most people know how to create a Word document but not how to convert the Word file to a PDF. In this video you are going to learn it. I also wanted to show you 2 ways, since I noticed that some people don’t have the option to save their Word document as a PDF file, since the PDF-option is sometimes not integrated in their Microsoft Word software.

This tutorial for the #Word #converter should work for Word 2007, Word 2010, Word 2013, Word 2016, Word 2019 and also Office 365. This also works with Microsoft Office on a Mac and also with open source software such as OpenOffice or LibreOffice.
